Fire Prevention

MANFF provides Fire Prevention and Public Education to Manitoba's 10 Independent First Nations Communities. We will deliver Fire Safety Messages to Elders, Seniors, Community Members, Children, and Community Groups.

Emergency Management

MANFF provides emergency management services to all 63 Manitoba First Nation Communities. In the event of a natural disaster MANFF provides preparedness, response and recovery.

Fire Services

MANFF provides Fire Services to Manitoba’s 10 Independent First Nation Communities. Fire Services includes: Firefighter Training, Fire Investigations, Fire Inspections and Fire Department Support.

Grand Chief Ron Evans ofthe Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs said native communities scramble every year to escape flood waters. Almost 400 people have already been evacuated from their homes this spring — the majority from First Nations communities. Flooding Forces Evacuation on First Nation Thursday, 31 March 2011 08:04 CBC News Posted: Mar 30, 2011 8:48 AM CT Last Updated: Mar 30, 2011 6:01 PM CT Residents of a Manitoba First Nation are being moved out of the community due to spring flooding. About 30 people from the Dauphin Lake First Nation have been forced out because water has started to wash over the main access road to the reserve, located at the junction of Dauphin River and Lake Winnipeg. "We've got a lot of vulnerable people that are in medical care that constantly go back and forth to clinics and hospitals and they can no longer do that with the road out," said Daren Mini, executive director of the Manitoba Association of Native Firefighters (MANFF), which is heading up the evacuation.
