
Doug McCormack is the Emergency Services Officer, here at the Manitoba Association of Native Firefighters. He is responsible for the planning, conducting, and implementing training in structural fire fighting for First Nations Fire Departments, throughout Manitoba. The Emergency Services Officer also provides training in the use, operation, restoration and maintenance of apparatus, equipment, systems and facilities comprising the fire protection resources of First Nations.

The following is a breakdown of the activities from 2006-07, for the Emergency Services Program:
Conducted First Aid / CPR courses to the following communities:
- Little Grand Rapids
- Bloodvein
- Sioux Valley
- Rolling River
Provided fire extinguisher training to the 2 following communities:
Conducted fire inspections at:
- Birdtail Sioux
- Canupawakpa
- Hollow Water
- Poplar River
- Tootinaowaziibeeng
Continue to work with first nations in gathering information to complete the fire protection surveys.
Prepared binder on information on an evacuation guide for disabled persons
Prepared a list of steps in order to obtain level one training for First Nations
Prepared template forms and checklists to assist Fire Chiefs to conduct fire inspections
Assisted with E-911 information from MTS to provide to First Nations
